PROBLEMS IN PELLA

The City of Pella is moving forward with its plans to connect Pella Fiber to Indianola Municipal Utilities (IMU).

The construction of the nearly 42-mile fiber optic network will cost $1.84 million. Pella will pay 50% of the total cost, approximately $919,430.14. IMU will be responsible for the other half of the total cost.

Last year,  the city laid 35 miles of fiber service lines after launching Pella Fiber, a municipal utility managed by Pella which offers internet, phone, and TV services, and competes against several fiber providers already in the area.

Why is the city continuing to waste taxpayer dollars on unnecessary infrastructure projects?
