DESERVES TRANSPARENCY

The Google Fiber deal is bad for West Des Moines. Our councilmembers are handing up to $50 million to a California-based tech giant. The project is already hundreds of thousands of dollars over budget while other metro communities are making private companies pay their own way. Meanwhile, West Des Moines residents have to deal with service disruptions and invasive construction.

From the moment city leaders struck this deal behind closed doors, they have brushed off questions about their financial conflicts of interest. West Des Moines residents deserve better from their elected officials.
